Meet Your Match (“we”, “us”, “our”) is committed to protecting and respecting your privacy.

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information in connection with your use of our website and any linked Google Forms. It also explains your rights under UK data protection law, including the UK GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018.

We collect the following types of personal data:

  • Via Google Forms (which we control):
      • Full name
      • Email address
      • Phone number
      • Age
      • First part of your postcode (for approximate location)
      • Responses to about 50 questions concerning personality, interests, and values
  • Via our contact form: minimal necessary personal data (name, email address and message content).
  • We do not intend for persons under 18 to use our website or forms; the site excludes users under 18.

2. How We Use Your Personal Data & Purposes of Processing

We process your data for the following purposes:

  • To respond to your enquiries submitted via the contact form.
  • To provide information, services, or content you request.
  • To analyse form responses for our purposes, so we choose who to invite to an event and pre-match applicants.
  • To maintain records for business purposes.
  • To comply with legal obligations.

3. Lawful Basis for Processing

We rely on the following lawful bases under UK GDPR / Data Protection Act for processing:

  • Consent: When you fill out a Google Form, you are giving explicit consent for us to collect and process your data as described.
  • Legitimate Interests: For processing your responses for analysis, improving services, or understanding interests, where this does not override your rights.

4. Sharing or Disclosure of Your Data

We will not sell your personal data. We will only ever share your personal data if required by law, or to defend legal claims, or protect our rights. If you request deletion, we respect those requests (see “Your Rights” below).

5. International Transfers

Because we use Google Forms and our website is hosted via a provider, there is a possibility that data is stored or accessed outside the UK / EEA.

  • We will check whether the countries involved have adequacy decisions under UK law or otherwise are considered to provide adequate protection.
  • Where adequacy is not present, we will ensure appropriate safeguards are in place (e.g. standard contractual clauses, or any equivalent mechanisms as required under UK GDPR).
  • No other third-party besides Google is used for the collection, storage or processing of your data, in the UK or abroad.

6. Retention of Data

  • We plan to retain the data indefinitely, or for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes for which the data was collected.
  • However, we will delete personal data if you request deletion, or where data is no longer needed.
  • We will also comply with any legal or regulatory obligations concerning retention (for example, tax, accounting, or other statutory requirements).

7. Children

  • Our site and forms are not intended for use by persons under 18.
  • If it comes to our attention that someone under 18 has submitted personal data, we will delete it immediately.

8. Your Rights

Under UK data protection law, you have several rights concerning your personal data:

  • The right to correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
